I remember going to Thailand to Bangkok in 1985 where every hotel had at least one girl you could rent for a month or more

I thought this very strange at the time but people like soldiers of various nations who travel a lot often were renting girls to cook for them and wash their clothes and be "pretend wives for them" for a month or more then in 1985 and 1986.

However, I was traveling with my family but observed this was happening then in Thailand.

However, I have no idea what has happened since then regarding all of this.

Actually it seems most countries on earth have prostitutes of one kind or another that are more legal than in the U.S. except for Nevada some places. This is just the way the world actually is, especially even in Europe like Amsterdam for example or other European places where women sell themselves and sometimes men too for short periods of time.
