For example, my wife and I considered going back up to our house in the Greater SF Bay area nearer to Thanksgiving but then we realized that Wednesday would be awful as the biggest travel day for Americans of the year they say. So, we decided to stay in Santa Barbara at this house for Thanksgiving instead. However, next week begins our relatives coming north to visit us in the SF Bay area so we likely will be spending more time between the Bay area and Mt. Shasta for example with our relatives. Many relatives are coming north for Christmas too with us.
For now, the flooding has passed (regarding Atmospheric Rivers flooding Santa Barbara south to San Diego. My wife went to her local bank here in Santa Barbara and it had flooded completely like many other places during the Atmospheric river over a week ago now. Even I had to get a 15 by 25 foot piece of greenhouse plastic to cover 4 foot deep cuts into the erosion of part of our property too. However, it is so mucky I couldn't even get to the lower end to staple it to the ground so winds don't blow it around up onto the paved road nearby. So, when we leave I will have to remove this 15 by 25 foot piece of 4ml. plastic so this doesn't cause problems for anyone after we leave our SB home for north. However, our landscaper is going to bring in a bulldozer to move dirt and compact it so flooding likely should be less with less erosion if there are anymore atmospheric Rivers happening this year.
the biggest problem I can see worldwide is potentially 5 times the rain can fall at higher temperatures because the air at higher temperatures can hold that much more rain worldwide which will mean incredible flooding situations worldwide more as the temperatures begin to rise.
