Safe in Greater San Francisco Bay area

We loaded the car last night and then the finishing touches like Laptops and electronics and food this morning and headed north today.  The traffic wasn't too bad because on Saturdays most people are where they want to be traveling on the road for the weekend. So Friday afternoons and Sunday afternoons and evenings are usually the worst trafffic (especially around the holidays).

However, what was beautiful is that the 10 inches of rain that fell over parts of Southern California in a few hours weekend before last made everything really green.

When we were returning from Austria we rented a car and drove to Santa Barbara for a couple of days and then drove north and then some lakes were dry and now they are full after 10 inches of rain in a couple of hours.

So, everything was really green all the way north to San Francisco area. However, when we arrived at 4 pm it was only 56 degrees so this is definitely winter weather along the coast. IN Santa Barbara we saw high Temperatures up to at least 70 or more the last week or so since it stopped Raining a week ago Friday now.

Also, a road crew has repaired as best as they can for now the erosion of the road and one big tree by replacing soil that washed away and packing it down and lifting two pieces of cement knocked into the drain area by likely some kind of traffic accident of maybe a truck hitting it and knocking it into the drain system which caused some erosion under the paved road. However, at least for now hopefully it is okay. I removed the 15 foot by 25 foot piece of 4ml. plastic from erosion on our property because no rain for now at least and I wouldn't be there to prevent winds from throwing the plastic up onto the paved road or elsewhere if I'm not there. Also, our landscaper is putting in a french drain so our den doesn't flood again during the next atmospheric River that might hit this year.

So, so far so good.
