Why did I study Cultural Anthropology? To answer the question: "Who and what are human beings?"

I realized early on in my life that most people were completely clueless of anything scientific to do with answering this question.

Of course it is also true that many or even most people in the 1950s also didn't even have a High School Diploma. However, by 1965 or 1970 this wasn't true anymore.

The Viet Nam War (where especially young men didn't want to die in that war (led to millions of young men and women going to college to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and Doctorates (Just as a way of staying alive and not dying or getting PTSD for life from the Viet nam war Draft (if you were a boy 18 to 26 too).

But, I digress.

For me, I realized just how incredibly ignorant most people were about "Who and What are human beings" that they lived in an ongoing Old Wives tale about what a Human being actually is.

For example, You can say: "I'm a Christian or a Muslim or a Hindu or a Buddhist" but this does NOTHING to answer my question as to "Who and what are human beings?"

Because your religion only defines you culturally and in no other real way.

It does NOT define you as a human being it ONLY defines how you were conditioned to think growing up and that's all!

So, recognizing just how limited most people are in their awarenes regarding who and what Human beings actually are beyond ANY religion made me want to study Cultural Anthropology.

And one of the first things I discovered was that I was a natural Shaman (which blew my mind too).

According to my textbook from Cultural anthropology:

"A Shaman is someone who has psychologically died but their body lives on."

This was a perfect definition to what had happened to me as a child.

The next part was: "Because they have psychologically died they live in both the world of the living and the world of the dead."

This made complete sense in my life experience too.

The next thing they said was: "Because a Shaman lives both in the physical World and the Spirit world they are often able to heal people."

My response to this would be:

By God's Grace
