Yes, Parker Dam is fully operational and continues to serve California, Arizona, and Nevada. Located on the Colorado River, it operates as both a hydroelectric power plant and a critical water source that pumps up to one billion gallons of water daily into the Colorado River Aqueduct.
The dam and its associated facilities are highly active:
  • Water Delivery: The reservoir it forms, Lake Havasu, acts as a forebay for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Central Arizona Project.
  • Power Generation: The hydroelectric plant has a capacity of 120 MW. Half of its electricity goes to the Metropolitan Water District, with the remainder sold to utilities across California, Arizona, and Nevada.
  • Recreation: The dam and Lake Havasu remain a major recreation hub for boating and fishing.
You can check the daily water release schedules on the Bureau of Reclamation page or find out more about the region's infrastructure via the Metropolitan Water District website.
Would you like to know more about the water release schedules or the recreation activities around Lake Havasu?
