"generative ghosts" — AI chatbots trained on a dead person's social media posts, emails, audio and video recordings, photos and other data to create a digital simulation that family and friends can interact with after the individual's death.

 The potential problems caused by doing this are too numerous to mention. You can see people longing for loved ones (especially their mates or children or grandchildren) having all sorts of psychological problems doing this. I don't see it as a solution but creating another problem (unless the person seeing this person never met this person and never bonded with this person in real life.

So, for history this might be great where all the really great leaders and thinkers might be immortalized in this way. But, for relatives I don't have to tell you just how dangerous this might be in real life.
