Anchorman2: The Movie

This has to be one of the craziest movies I've ever seen. Though it is well done like when Steve Carrell and Christine Wiig meet one feels like they are going crazy too. But, (bowling balls, scorpions and french fries with hot cooking oil) while driving in a driverless motorhome? This movie is over the top in about 100 ways. I actually like the GNN (CNN) reference and his relationship with his black superior a lot in how it manifested 1980 style. When they were parodying the 1970s they also toasted (parodied) the early 1980s as well. If they make an Anchorman 3 expect to see more late 70s and early 1980s favorite experiences parodied to death as well.

I was 21 in 1969 so by 1980 I was 32. So, watching all this the surprising thing was how much the 1970s were like the 1960s and 1950s  and 1940s too. As we were going through all this the people of the late 1960s and 1970s really saw themselves as completely different people than the people of the 1950s and before. However, in reality we at core were just as macho and as violent as the people of the 1950s and before. There was still a lot of the wild Cowboy Macho in a lot of us still then. But, everything was changing and morphing until now. But even now  you are so much still like the 2000s, the 1990s, the 1980s, the 1970s, the 1960s and even the 1950s still simply because you have known people in your lives like parents, aunts uncles and grandparents from all these eras. And in understanding them better you also understand yourselves better because this is where we all came from. So, laughing about all the excesses might be a good thing to do. It's a whole lot better than crying because those days are gone forever, except in our memories now.
