It is mostly historical and goes all the way back to El Cid in Spain and Count Dracula in Transylvania. Both these historical figures drove Muslim armies out of Europe deep in history. So, Europeans want to stay Christian mostly and worry that refugees will change the face of Europe to a non-Christian majority over time. Are they right? maybe.
So, Christians are worried some of the refugee Children (or adults) will be tomorrow's terrorists.
But, there are two ways to look at it.
One way would be like this.
If you are a refugee and are not well treated and watch your family die on their way to Europe you might be much more likely to become a Terrorist eventually in revenge for your family's death aren't you?
But then, the other side of this is birth control is not a part of the Muslim religion at all and refugees will tend to breed more Muslims and this also could be a problem for Christian secular Europe.
So, any way you look at it this is a problem for people who want to keep Europe mainly Christian just like the last 2000 years.
So, the way I see it is the refugees would not be such a problem if they were either Christian or agnostic. Either way, they might not be perceived as the threat they are now by most Europeans.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
