If you live in California it is good to know if you are in a potential flood plain especially this year when it seems like we are getting some rain almost every day for the last 30 days or so. If it is just a little every day that's okay it's when we get too much in any 3 day period that flooding becomes possible here in California. We are known sometimes to get as much as 16 inches of rain sometimes in a 3 day period which creates havoc in a state with this many elevation changes from well over 14,000 feet in many many places down to sea level all along the coast and in places like Death Valley which is actually below sea level.
