Cloudbursts through the night and through today still
I woke up to loud rain falling on the skylight above my bed and to lightning and thunder several times during the night here on the Northern California coast. The heaviest rain right now is Los Angeles and San Diego which might be flooding in several places now from all the rains of this week added up and cloudbursts yesterday, last night and today. Where I am the flooding is present but not too bad because I don't live in a flood plain like many people do. I listened to Los Angeles weather news last night and they were worrying about the Los Angeles River overflowing and causing havoc in parts of the Los Angeles area. The L.A. River was built after at least 300 people's houses were buried during I believe during the 1930s when many died then from flooding and mud covering up their houses. So, long cement river was built through much of the Los Angeles Area to carry this flash flood water when it comes through the most built up areas of Los Angeles. In more recent years many homeless people live in the L.A. River when it is mostly dry except for lawn runoff and such from lawns and golf courses and stuff during the summers in the very center. So, homeless people often set up camp under bridges where they will be less seen and where they can get some shelter from the rain or sun or moisture when it comes. However, this time of year with flash floods and the Los Angeles River set to overflow many could die or be swept away along with all their things in the flooding. So, this might be a problem for locals watching some people die or drown or lose whatever they have from this problem.
