I just noticed it started raining outside so I decided to chart it on the radar. According to the weather radar it is raining starting about Big Sur or south of there where San Simeon where the Hearst Castle is raining as far north as Crescent City with a little snow places like near Mt. Shasta. But strangely enough the storm mostly follows the coast heading mostly northwards and a little eastwards for now.
There are other parts of the storm hitting as far south as Baja California now near Tijuana and also heading north and eastwards.
However, unless the radar goes from Green to Yellow at least you cannot be sure it is rain actually hitting the ground. With Green you know rain is falling but could be absorbed by dry air if it is there, especially in California. But, when you see yellow or red you know the rain is actually hitting the ground on radar moving graphs. In more humid areas of the Country or world often green might mean rain actually hitting the ground too. However, unless a storm is changing the normally dry air in California rain doesn't always reach the ground here unless there is really a lot of moisture and precipitation coming down.
However, it is still actually raining here on the Northern California coast where I live now for the last 1/2 hour to hour. It is presently about 6 pm right now Sunday night Pacific Time.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
