Maybe.
This is a crazy thing to have to say but "Maybe" is the only useful answer.
The reason for this is this "Watergate" style attack could change and continue to change the U.S. Presidential elections away from who people would ordinarily vote for. So, since Putin wants Trump in as a U.S. puppet this makes complete sense.
The threat is not a threat to U.S. government itself, however.
It is a threat to our democratic election process.
So, the effect would be to put in Trump through whatever the Russians can dig up and release electronically in a timely way.
So, this hack attack would end our democracy and make our democracy a sham and possibly throw us into a puppet state run by Trump where Putin in effect would be ruling the U.S. remotely from Russia.
This is not a joke.
Why aren't more people upset about this?
Mostly because most people would panic and make things even worse if they knew the truth.
So, it is being dealt with in a very strange manner as people PRETEND everything is okay.
Everything is very much Not okay and our democracy could very well END on election day because of these ongoing attacks and releases of information.
Someone with Narcissitic Personality disorder like Trump can easily be manipulated or blackmailed by Putin financially to do anything Putin wants. This is the real problem here.
Trump is not strong.
He's like an actor pretending to be strong.
Pretending to be strong or rich is not the same thing as actually being the role the actor is acting.
A person with a big enough ego can say anything and people might believe him.
But can he really deliver?
Trump has zero record in politics and it's all a bluff and meaningless in the end.
This is already obvious to all educated Americans who have been to college.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
