Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will be speeding up its deliveries in the coming quarters once it hits its production peak. With Model 3 pre-orders already sold out for a year, you can imagine how many Tesla cars might be on the road in the next two to three years. And to cater to these electric vehicles, the Palo Alto-based company needs to have a proper network of supercharging stations.
The supercharging stations should be present just like gas stations are available to cater to the need of gasoline cars. And Tesla has realized it and is building its supercharging station corridor from coast-to-coast.  The company is set to build three more supercharging stations to expand its supercharging network to Nebraska.
The Superchargers will be installed in Lincoln, Ogallala, and Gothenburg on the Interstate-80 in Nebraska. These will be the first supercharging stations that are installed in the state with Tesla applying for permits in August this year. Work on the superchargers started this week only with the supercharge.info website showing the three locations under the banner "under construction."
Tesla is rapidly building its supercharging stations to cater to the demand. During the current year, only the company has built more than 4,600 new superchargers in 156 new locations with 32 new locations already under construction to install superchargers.  The company is also adding more stalls to these chargers after it opened its first ever 20- stall supercharger.
Tesla unveiled its Model 3 in March and at that time Musk said that they would have to work on their supercharging station as well. The company aims to double its super chargers to 7,000 by the end of 2017. Tesla will also quadruple its Destination chargers, used for free charging in hotels and cinemas, to 7,000 during the same period.
Tesla has also made inroads in countries where it was not present. Recently, it officially started selling cars in Ireland. The electric car maker plans to open its first store in the country next year and will also install four super charging stations in Belfast, Dublin, Galway, and Cork.
