Maybe.
Erdogan is signalling, (Maybe) he is going to "Take out" Assad because he is the nearest Sunni Muslim State available to save the Syrian Sunnis from being massacred in Aleppo and throughout Syria?
I don't know but this is what this might be. Erdogan is signalling Assad has to go. Russia has to decide now if they are willing to fight Erdogan's military to keep Assad in power?
This is what i believe is happening right now.
However, if Erdogan wipes out Assad they will also be at war with Iran at that point. But, all Sunni governments have had it with both IRan and Assad at this point so this might be where all out Sunni Muslim warfare is going to break out and go beyond just proxy wars in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
So, Turkey's lead might be joined by Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and all other Sunni governments like Egypt and even Libya. It's hard to say at this point.
ISIS through crazy as hell was fighting for Sunnis and now they are almost gone. So Sunni governments might have decided to take out Assad and maybe Iran at this point. The logic being they better start this before Trump gets into power in the U.S. and really messes things up for Muslims around the world.
