It's good to have a center from your spiritual practices and spiritual disciplines. Why?
Because otherwise you are going to be spun around by the next headline and the next and the next in the news. Just remember when life was much more barbaric than now and how hard it was for enlightened and honest people to even stay alive then was. They would have to go alone into the forest or deserts or oceans or caves in mountains to get enlightened then while people hacked each other up in little pieces around the world then.
Even now, to take governments completely seriously only shortens lives. It's important to be informed but also equally important to maintain your mental and physical and spiritual health.
So, a good motto might be: "Nothing's going to change my world" (Spiritual world). This allows you to keep centered no matter what happens on earth ongoing.
If a hurricane comes you find a way through it. If your family needs help you find a way to help them. If the world blows up you go into heaven realms. No matter what happens you find a calm and peaceful and enlightened way forward. The world doesn't govern you, you do.
And even deeper, God is governing all of this to give us a university level education through the school of hard knocks whether any of you have been to college or not we all are getting an education at the very least. Can we survive all this?
