chart of how coronavirus cases have grown in U.S. in 7 days until today

Wednesday March 11th 2020 1000
                                12th         1274
                                13th          1,666
                                14th          2,216
                                 15th          2,885
                                 16th         3,616
                                 17th          4,475
               today         18th          7,100 plus

The point is that in 7 days since March 11th we have had at least a 7 fold increase in cases nationwide which means that if this 7 fold increase continues we will have at least 49,700 cases this time next week nationwide which is why so many are now sheltering in place nationwide to slow this increase down hopefully.

Data from CNN NEWS Right now with Brianna Keilar   on March 18th 2020

If you have even one or two cases in your community this means "medical personnel say" that you have 100,000 to 200,000 carriers within 50 to 100 miles of those 1 or 2 cases. This is what is being statistically said regarding cases that show up without foreign travel involved. IF you live more remotely where there are less people I'm not sure this works the same way but it does work in more populous areas around the country.
