This is a very remote place to get to by the way. The closest I have been personally to Tassajara (pronounced TassaHara) with the j pronounced as an H. is to Chew's Ridge by driving out to Carmel Valley Center from Highway 1 near Carmel and then heading further to the south and a little to the west and winding up in Chew's Ridge. Often in years past you might find snow here at about 4000 feet in the mountains there in the winter so you didn't have to go 5 hours or more from the SF Bay Area to the Sierras for snow sometimes(likely Lake Tahoe would be the closest place for snow otherwise). But, I have never driven all the way to Tassajara on that road because it's a long way there. And I'm not sure of the roads to get there from the ocean side near Big Sur Either. So, it's going to be a hard fire to fight that remote in the mountains and hills of that area. And because of the very few roads and most of them dirt or rock roads in that area the likelihood of injuries or deaths go up with less escape routes for firefighters unless they have a helicopter nearby to rescue them when they need it.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
