What I get from listening to Kyle Rittenhouse is that this young and very naive man is likely a conservative and might have tried to become a policeman one day if he hadn't blundered into killing two men and wounding a 3rd person a year or so ago.
The main thing I get is he was idealistic in a completely unrealistic way when he was shooting people. In other words his version of reality did not match what was actually going on there.
Any sensible adult would not have gone there in the first place with a black lives matter demonstration going on because doing so often is fatal to people of whatever political persuasion they might be. In other words bullets could be flying from any side of the political spectrum and often do at Black lives matter demonstrations.
So, the very fact that someone who was more of a child than an adult went to something like this shows his complete lack of adult thinking in any realistic way. As a result of his naivete 2 men are now dead who were both unarmed are dead and one, the paramedic was wounded after shooting Rittenhouse in the arm but surviving because Rittenhouse then ran away.
My assessment of all this is likely the same as the judges which is Rittenhouse was a child with a Gun Basically who had no business being in this situation at all.
However, will this child be convicted as an adult or be treated like the child he actually was when all this happened. This remains to be seen.
In many states it doesn't matter the age of the boy if he uses a gun and kills someone. However, Rittenhouse is white on trial in a very very white state as well.
