The World According to Jeff Goldblum is a 2019 American documentary streaming television series presented by Jeff Goldblum streaming on Disney+ from November 12, 2019.[1]
On January 17, 2020, the series was renewed for a second season that will consist of ten episodes. This season will premiere on November 12th, 2021.[2]
Premise[edit]
The series follows Jeff, in which he 'explores the world'. He does this by covering topics such as video games, ice-creams and sneakers by chatting with influencers and experts with broad knowledge and experience in these particular subjects.
Production[edit]
The show was announced as part of the National Geographic presentation during Disney's investor meeting on April 11, 2019 for Disney+.[4]
Filming[edit]
The production started in April 2019. During filming, Jeff Goldblum researched as little as possible on the topics being presented on the show. He explores a wide range of products including sneakers, ice creams, tattoos and bicycles.[5]
Topics for the second season had been planned, and shooting had begun in early 2020, before being shut down as a consequence of coronavirus restrictions. The first episode was due to be on fireworks, and Goldblum had apparently filmed an interview with an astronaut for the series. It is unknown whether material planned or already shot for the before the coronavirus pandemic will be used in future series.[6]
