We went outside at 10:02 pm and there was a little redness on one side of the moon

This was the only sign at first of there being a Lunar Eclipse beginning. My wife and daughter and I were still awake then. I checked again at abotu 11:30 pm but the storm clouds had occluded the moon temporarily then. I will probably check again at 1 am to see if it is visible then at the peak of the Eclipse.

I looked outside again from inside my home and it was dark and so at first I thought the cloud cover or fog had come in. But, when I turned my light on in the back yard at 12:30 AM I realized that the 99% eclipse had pretty much completely blotted out the full moons light outside instead.

So, I got my Smartphone and took pictures of the moon which came out pretty good when I held my hand steady on the edge of the roof to take it. I got about 4 good pictures that I could text to family and friends of the full eclipse.
