Being in the Out of Doors can be very useful to your mental and physical health now
Although this was always true it is even more true now to be somewhere that it is beautiful. I have mostly been in Northern and Southern California since I was 4. I got very used to 70 degree temperatures along the coast from San Diego even as far north as San Francisco often during the winter time for example.
To give you an example of how nice the winter temperatures are here is San Francisco and Los Angeles this week in temperatures:
You can see now why so many retired people spend their winters in Palm Springs for example because they. are not going to have all the body aches and pains and chills from the cold during the winters if they. are in Palm Springs.
But, of course you do often have to deal with high winds and sand storms usually pretty unexpectedly because you are on the desert there. I can remember renting motorcycles there in palm Springs with my cousin when I was about 16 years old to explore the area there.
And by age 20 in 1968 my father bought land up past Yucca valley about 30 miles mostly to the north and east of Palm Springs. So, we spent a lot of weekends building my father and mother a retirement home from about 1968 to 1980 when he and Mom retired there. We mostly lived in Rancho Bernardo in between Escondido and San Diego back then until I moved with my first wife to Mt. Shasta with my baby son in 1976.
So, if it's below zero in wind chills where you are you might want to get a treadmill for exercise inside. Because a treadmill simulates walking long distances which is the best overall exercise ergonomically for
any human being. I have had. a treadmill for at least 10 or more years and it's great for when it's just too miserable to consider going outside during the winters here when winds are blowing off the ocean 50 to 100 miles per hour and trees are coming down and it's raining sideways. But, that hasn't happened now since December of 2021.
I live on the coast about a mile from the ocean in the general region of San Francisco in Northern California.
