Sensory deprivation is used by Tibetan Monks and Lamas to heighten ones gifts

However, because of how people are raised here in the U.S. being in a room in the dark for 4 months wouldn't work for many or most people here in the U.S. or Europe.

It takes a very different sort of person than the average person to be able to do something like this and come out sane out the other side of all this.

However, I did meet Lam Rim Geshe who did this for 17 years straight before I met him in 1985 after the Kalachakra with the Dalai Lama and 500,000 people receiving this initiation in Bodhgaya, India where the Buddha became enlightened under the Bodhi Tree 2500 years ago and 500 years before Christ.

Lam Rim Geshe was the face that they used as a basis for Yoda. However, Lam Rim Geshe was at least 6 feet tall which is very tall for most Tibetans. However, he was a really amazing being after meditating for 17 years straight. His Home looked a little like Yoda's home on the Dagoba planet when Luke visited him there. I met Lam Rim Geshe in Dharamshala, India up in the mountains where the Dalai Lama lives.

I did meet one young man who was about 18 years old for whom the 4 month retreat really freaked him out. So, I'm sharing this as a cautionary tale because most people from the western World couldn't be in the dark for 4 months straight and come out okay.

Many highly gifted people will come out of the time that they had to be relatively alone somewhere through these times by the way.

World Wide Covid is sort of a sink or Swim situation for many people.

So, the people that can survive the isolation of quarantining at home a lot likely will be the future of the human race and their gifts likely will develop a lot from this sensory deprivation time as well.

NOTE: Before you can become a Tibetan Buddhist Monk or Lama you have to isolate and do specific prayers in the dark alone for 4 months time at a specific place. So, if you have ever met either a Tibetan Buddhist monk they have already successfully done this at some point in their training to become a Tibetan Buddhist Monk or Lama.

I talked to one Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist Monk who spoke English well in Rewalsar and he showed me his hair that he grew for 4 months and his very long fingernails that couldn't be trimmed until after 4 months.

So, after 4 months practices in the dark he cut his nails and 4 months of hair off and after becoming a monk they shave their heads (in his group) probably the rest of their lives. And for this Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist Monk keeping his hair and long nail clippings was a sign of his attainment that he would cherish likely the rest of his life.

Because how many of you could go into a dark room or cave and stay there for 4 months with no lights, no radio, nothing to read (no lights) and no TV or Internet and no one to talk to except for people who brought you food and water?

This wouldn't work at all for about 95% to 99% of Americans and Europeans to be able to come out the other side okay.

By the way I never tried to do this because I knew it wouldn't suit me in this lifetime with the culture I was raised in.

However, I have gone 4 days and 4 nights without water or food while praying on a Native American Vision Quest. This was one of the most amazing experiences in the wilderness I have ever had.
