I had to figure out how to use a personal hotspot through my IPhone again

I'm not usually so remote that I cannot use regular wifi but found myself in this position today early this morning. So, then I had to remember how to use a personal hotspot on my IPhone and connect it up to my laptop. I still have electricity here but I'm pretty remote here in Wyoming at present.

It took me several days to be okay sleeping at 6000 feet or above. Even though I'm 74 I was able to sleep some (at least 6 hours) at 7300 feet where I presently am. Also, being away from most TV and wifi I find myself experiencing a certain level of sensory deprivation.

Actually, as I think about it what people were mostly experiencing during the 2 years of severe Covid was likely Sensory deprivation when often they couldn't go to work or school and everyone had to work or study on line a lot.

On one level it is likely good for (the people who can survive these kinds of changes) (as opposed to the people who just went crazy and started shooting everyone including themselves.

This is how I see all the shootings now in the U.S. What has happened is people went sort of crazy from all the changes from Covid in the U.S. and one day some of the people had gotten just so whacked out that they went out and shot a bunch of people or children or whoever before mostly they shot themselves too.

So, I see the shootings now as more trauma induced from all the changes and deaths in people's lives more than anything else.

So, my philosophy around all this is guns don't kill people crazy people do.

However, I also believe no civilian actually needs an assault weapon unless they are going to war somewhere like in Ukraine. Because a weapon like the AR-15 is specifically designed to go through more than one person and is designed to enter a person as a small bullet and then fan out and take a 5 or 6 inch chunk of them out the other side of their body.

It is not even a good hunting weapon simply because it would generally spoil the meat the way it goes through the body of an animal and makes a mess.

So, making assault weapons illegal makes a lot of sense to me here in the U.S.

But, I think people still need to be able to buy hunting rifles and pistols for hunting and personal protection.

The police in Uvalde were completely outgunned by the kid with the AR-15. If they had gone in there with just pistols they all likely would have died. Most people don't realize this. A pistol doesn't stand up to the intense firepower of a semi-automatic AR-15. For example, an AR-15 will cut through a policeman's body armor like it's butter. Body armor is only effective from things under about a 9 mm pistol or a .45 caliber pistol. when you see soldiers wearing body armor it is about protection from fragmentation devices because most assault weapons will pierce body armor
