Problem I have noticed with new 2022 Subaru Ascent:

It's mostly a really great car and I don't really regret buying it at all BUT it is sort of like Tesla's in that  even though it is a gasoline engine SUV with all wheel drive it also is like a Tesla in that it is so automatic and run by a computer chip.

So, the problem seems to be that if you start up the car too quickly it has a problem and the brakes won't unlock to let you drive forwards or backwards more than 2 to 3 feet in both directions.

The Solution:

You PUSH the start stop button (because it has a FoB and not keys to turn the car off. Then you count about 10 seconds like you would with a computer when you are restarting it's operating system because that is what you are really doing here.

Usually, the operating system for the car will reload having "HEALED itself.

So, if this happens to you just remember what I wrote here regarding this glitch in a Subaru Ascent.

It happened to me only once after driving it 3/4 of a year even to Lake Louise Canada last June 2022.

However, it has happened more than once to my wife and she said turning it off and starting over worked for her too. Just don't be in too big of a hurry when this happens or you are never going anywhere.

So, this is a computer glitch for a 2022 Subaru Ascent All wheel drive.
