Some times paper diapers were unaffordable for us when we were young around 1974 when my first child was born.

 What did we do?

We bought cloth diapers instead. Now, I know that most people would be very upset at this and wouldn't do this but it might be important to note that this is what everyone did when I was born in 1948 before paper diapers were invented. In fact, this is what everyone did on earth for thousands of years (or if it was warm enough outside kids walked around naked and did their business wherever they were outside. This is also a reality still many places on earth.
