There are sand dunes in Death Valley fairly near Stovepipe wells

The last time I was in Death Valley traveling with my son was about 10 years ago now and it was very hot I remember. so we got up very early while it was still cool enough and walked out on the Sand Dunes nearby where we were staying at the motel at Stovepipe wells. It's called Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes by the way. However, don't go out there in the heat of the day in the summer or you could easily die. It's better in the fall, winter and spring if you want to survive walking out onto the Sand Dunes there.

However, if there is a wind of any sort don't go there then unless you want all your skin on your face sand blasted off.
