So if friends or relatives of yours are flying in from somewhere (even though it will be really smoky likely the next few weeks from fires winding down (hopefully) you can likely get almost anywhere along the entire 101 and 405. 405 is the freeway you likely will use going either direction when you get off the plane. So, I went into Caltrans this morning to check to see what roads were open still and the 405 and the 101 still are.
However, Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Blvd are completely closed. So, you cannot drive now from Santa Monica up the Coast along Pacific Coast highway at all and many homes along the beach below (like 20 to 50 or more along the coast are burned completely from the fire heading to the ocean from Pacific Palisades.
But, as of now I think most freeways are still open for you to drive on even though it will be so smoky now you might not be able to see the sun almost anywhere in Los Angeles.
So, put your recirculation button on in your car along with your air conditioner (at least during the day) so you don't damage your eyes or lungs from all the smoke and ash and embers flying about. Also, watch where the live embers go because you don't want to be where they land and start fires at all because you might be endangering your car because it usually runs on gasoline that is 7 times more potentially explosive than dynamite if it is set off.
And make sure your windows are all rolled up tight to protect your eyes and lungs too while driving anywhere in Los Angeles County or surrounding areas right now.
Also, I checked the power outage map for Los Angeles county and there are sporadic power outages in Areas from Santa Clarita to Long Beach right now. So, getting gas or food or shopping in many of these areas (whether burned or not) might be a problem throughout Los Angeles County and Long Beach which I just found out is also a part of Los Angeles County.
Here is the power outage map for Los Angeles County:
