Now it is 10:26 Sunday in the AM and it is raining pretty hard and likely will be raining all day.
It's pretty obvious to me since rain that often turns into 10 to 12 inches of snow will bring about 4 feet of new snow between Sunday and possibly Tuesday Morning now.
Today here in Mt. Shasta is a rain day because we are at around 3500 feet elevation here. However, if you go up to 4500 feet or more the 4 feet of snow will be coming today and tomorrow.
However, Monday the snow is supposed to stick here in Town again after the rain today melts all or most of the snow Sunday today.
The present temperature is 37 degrees and the low is around 34 degrees so likely there will be some snow today but it likely will not stick and melt into the ground instead of sticking. However, that doesn't mean it won't be slippery many places to drive or walk on because of the rain and snow mix and mess it will create especially on roads like Interstate 5 which could be very dangerous from Redding to Ashland, Oregon.
Also, because the Ashland Pass on I-5 going into Ashland heading north is around 4300 feet in elevation you could see snow sticking on the road especially there so drivers need to be very careful driving over that pass and it is quite possible that chains might be required for this drive on Trucks and Buses and Cars etc.
