I woke up early around 6 am and when I looked outside I saw it was beginning to rain so I went to my daughter's room and asked if I could bring her clothes in off the clothes line outside. She said yes. I told her it was raining and I wanted to bring her clothes in before they all got wet again. So, I found a plastic Clothes basket and brought them all inside out of the lightly falling rain. Now it is completely wet outside and raining from San Jose to Los Angeles and also in Santa Barbara where we are presently.
The best part of this is the rain from Santa Barbara south will likely stop any fire going in Southern California and prevent any new ones because of all the wetness wherever the rain falls which is really good because Southern California has been mostly without rain since March of 2024. So, if they don't get a lot of rain between now and May the fire season "Summer and Fall" will be horrific and much worse than the Pacific Palisades fire and the Eaton Fire ongoing.
So, we are hoping for the best here in California.
Later: Still raining about 5 or more hours later. Likely light rain all day the way it presently looks. Light rain hopefully won't flood anywhere and it should be a very useful rain in making everything wet and stopping or preventing fires. So, likely 12 hours or more total of light rain. Temperature also around 54 degrees for a high which is pretty cold for any day in the year for Santa Barbara which has likely the best year around climate of anywhere I have been on earth if you like it warm but not too hot year around. This is why so many actors like Oprah Winfrey and Steve Martin and others live here in this area (especially in Montecito) where the most expensive homes tend to be. Also, it's within a couple of hours by car from Los Angeles County where most TV and movies are made out of worldwide (at least here in the U.S.).
