Esther's Follies is funny in Austin with a type of humor like you would see at Saturday night live!
I was trying to get a parking place and looked in my rear view mirror and saw someone performing through a window behind me. It turned out after I found a parking place somewhere else that the performance my daughter got us all tickets to with her boyfriend was the same one we were going to. They just have a window or two exposed to the public which likely draws in more people to the performances. Also, part of the performance is you watching people perform parts of the show both inside and outside the window at the same time. I thought this was pretty amazing on multiple levels to use this venue as a performance but also a free performance to the public outside as well even though they likely couldn't fully here what was going on (outside the window) to the street.
This is a comedy Magic act which we found was very high quality in some ways sort of like what one might expect in Las Vegas. However, the building is also very old and might date back to the 1960s maybe or at least as far back as the 1970s. So, it's a very interesting venue. And the entertainment was amazing too. The four of us had a lovely time and we also found parking which we weren't sure of finding at first on a Friday Night.
