The years I learned this the best were likely 1980 to 1985. However, once you learn how to be in the moment with life and God you often don't forget it either. So, learning to be very in the moment is the skill of a lifetime in which you are emulating Jesus and Buddha and all the saints of all religions in the world.
So, I found it well worth the effort to learn this "Being in the right place at the right time."
It's also important for meeting all the people you need to meet in your lifetime so that they can become enlightened too. And so on and so on.
What is it like being in the right place at the right time? Sometimes the sky opens up and you are in the most beautiful places imaginable both inside and outside.
Also, I always chose to live in some of the most beautiful places on earth in this lifetime too. Mostly I have lived in San Diego, Los angeles County, and near San Francisco and Mt. Shasta and Hilo, Hawaii and two places on Maui. But, mostly my life has been in California where I have lived mostly since 1952 when my parents moved here with me from Seattle where I was born. I was 4 in 1952 and we moved to Vista California from Seattle. What a difference that was.
People in California wore shorts a lot year around and were freer and less worried about freezing to death than in Seattle then and now. Just an entirely different way of being.
Seattle was much more polite sort of like Canada and England whereas California has always been ultimately experimental in the way people live.
However, people tend to survive their experiments more than most places because if you are experimenting with life in all ways you start to develop rules to survive these experiments.
I think people other places if they were as experimental as Californians have always been they might die more from their experiments. But somehow most Californians survive most of their experiments with life in various ways.
So, somewhere between age 4 and now I'm 77 I have become a Californian more than someone from Washington. However, I still visit Washington too and I like riding the Ferries over to Canada to Vancouver and Victoria Island also.
The point really is if you learn to be in the right place at the right time your life becomes very magic and amazing in ways that you actually wouldn't likely believe.
This is my life experience.
