When you look at How the Galaxy manages timelines: "Nothing is permanent. Nothing is SET IN STONE"

 What each of us actually have is our memories of what we experience and experienced in our lives, nothing more. Why?

Because we cannot be sure of anything really but our memories of each and every moment. Why?

Because every moment may change the next moment because of the Galaxy's management of time.

However, the Galaxy also stresses Continuity which helps people and other beings cope better and not have psychotic breaks.

So, Time Appears to be solid when actually it is not.

So, as a result of all this we can ONLY count on our present and past experiences but not anything remaining permanent anywhere in the physical realm.

So, we are left with our dreams and our memories mostly through all of this.

NOTE: However, one tends to conduct themselves differently when they understand all this. Life is a different thing without physical permanence. But, it's still beautiful and amazing to be alive here on earth at this time.
