Glad to have made it safely to Santa Barbara

The heat yesterday in Los Angeles without Air conditioning in our car working was very iffy for us to make it all the way here. But, somehow we made it. The worst heat and bumper to bumper traffic (both) was in East L.A. into the downtown of Los Angeles where all the biggest buildings are. By the time we got to the Hollywood Bowl on 101 and Silverlake and Universal Studios on 101 I realized we were going to make it without me having to go to the hospital from heat prostration. I had my wife wet a napkin with drinking water from one of our containers and we had both windows open and it reminded me of what we did in over 100 weather in the 1950s. I took the wet paper Napkin and touched my forehead and back of my neck mostly with it to keep my brain cool enough to keep driving. If you are home another method without working Air Conditioning is to take a bowl of Ice and have an electric fan blow over the ice to cool you if you put the whole combination blowing at your face.

If you keep your brain cool enough you don't pass out from the heat but if you don't keep your brain cool enough you can lose consciousness and often if there is no one around to save you when you lose consciousness you will die. So, this is something to think about when it gets very hot with no air conditioner somewhere on earth.
