Millions are under air quality alerts as wildfire smoke blankets large swaths of U.S.

Our neighbor in Santa Barbara sent us a picture of the sunset with a red hazy sun. I asked in a text if this was from the Gifford Fire north of there in Santa Maria and the answer was: "Must BE" So, we left Santa Barbara just in time on Friday before the smoke arrived by Sunset there so we didn't ever have to breathe smoke that day or after. However, we still had to brave (or my wife did) 96 degrees in Paso Robles to San Ardo before the Temperature finally reduced down to 84 in King City as we traveled north to the Bay Area (SF). So, we are very lucky not to have to breathe smoke like so many millions are having to do in the rest of the country including in California from various fires this time of year.
