In this, I'm comparing Hydrogen Bombs (nukes) to Artificial Intelligence

Why?

Because the same kind of extinction potential is there for the entire human race.

However, one way or another the human race has survived since the late 1940s with Hydrogen bombs.

For example, I read Into Tibet about how this U.S. Spy CIA agent lived in Tibet to study the hydrogen bomb tests in China and the Soviet Union.

This is a very good read by the way but I won't share with you how he dies because it is so strange that you likely could never guess what really happened to him and says a lot about how primitive some people were in Asia then (and likely now in some places too).

The book
Into Tibet: The CIA's First Atomic Spy and His Secret Expedition to Lhasa by Thomas Laird tells the story of Douglas Mackiernan, the first CIA officer to die in the line of duty, who was killed during a 1949 mission to Tibet. The mission aimed to gather atomic intelligence on Soviet uranium deposits and provide arms to Tibetan resistance.
  • Author: Thomas Laird
  • Subject: Douglas S. Mackiernan, the CIA's first "atomic spy," and his secret expedition into Tibet in 1949-1950
  • Mission objective: To gather intelligence on Soviet atomic plans and uranium deposits in Tibet, and to arm the Tibetan resistance
  • Outcome: Mackiernan was killed during the mission, making him the first CIA officer to die in the line of duty
  • Content: The book details the mission's background, the intrigue, and the events leading to the Chinese invasion of Tibet, which was hastened by the expedition's actions. It includes details about Mackiernan's partner, Frank Bessac, and their journey.

    end quotes.

The point is just like with Thomas Mackiernan in Tibet studying the Chinese and the Russians then we are in uncharted territory with Artificial intelligence.

For example, lately I have been watching st.uff on TV about a Completely artificial Intelligence Drone that acts from the ground completely on it's own to suicide itself on any incoming drones. Now, on one level this should help Ukraine a lot in bringing down drones from Russia. But on another level it is horrific to have completely autonomous drones taking off by themselves and not needing ANY human help at all before they bring down another drone (BOOM!) successfully.

So, we are quickly moving towards Nuclear weapon drones who are lifting off the ground at will (their own) to nuke other places on earth (without any humans invovled at all (except in the building of them possibly.

And even then it is theoretically possible to build a nuclear weapon drone or drones (an unlimited amount of them(without any human assisstance  at all except maybe to bring the materials to assemble them.

So, now it is theoretically possible to build nuclear weapon drones (of any size) with no humans on the assembly line of these things at all and maybe even the truck drivers bringing in the components wouldn't even know what they were helping to build which might nuke them and their families off the map permanently one day without any warning at all.

So, this is one reason why I compare Hydrogen Bombs to nuclear weapons because likely someone (U.S., Russia or China) is already doing this to create more advanced doomsday weapons to kill all of us rather than have their nations fall to another.

We have been building things (doomsday weapons) since before Dr. Strangelove came out in 1964!

If you want to have a laugh regarding early nuclear weapons this is a must see by the way. This movie.

So, the whole point is that Artificial intelligence by itself might not be the problem here. It is people using Artificial intelligence to build nuclear weapons without involving any people much at all to do it except for truck drivers who might have no idea they are hauling the means of their own destruction and the destruction of their families.

Because these things wouldn't have to be assembled by people at all but only by machines.

Have you ever visited a Tesla Factory by the way? And seen what happens there?

I don't know if there are tours anymore but in 2016 my cousin bought a Model S and took his family through the Tesla Factory then in California. However, these might have been moved to another state like Texas now because Ellon Musk bought the town of Spaceport, Texas.
