If you are older like me you don't want to be flying over about 8 to 12 hours at a time because of the danger of various health issues like Blood Clots, strokes, or heart attacks from being in one position on an Airliner too long.
However, as I was checking because I'm already in Hawaii I realized it would be feasible for me as an older person (77 years old) to take Eliquis (blood thinner) like I did going to Austria and if I traveled business class or first class I might be able to have my legs raised like flying Austrian Airlines from JFK in New York direct to Vienna which allows me to lift my legs to prevent edema problems. This actually worked for me and then only jet lag became the only real serious issue in Austria. and resting a couple of days mostly took care of that for someone my age.
