what happens when 90% of the jobs disappear in the U.S. over the next 5 to 10 years?

 This is actually the 64 million dollar question isn't it?

However, this is what the experts predict of 90% of jobs going away to AI within 5 to 10 years.

Then what happens to all the people between the ages of 16 or 18 and 65 who aren't retired yet?

What do they do?

 I suppose they might go to other countries the way millions have already done to get away from Trump's insanity.

Just like the best and Brightest of Russia Left when Putin invaded Ukraine in Crimea in 2014. 

About 1 million of the best and brightest and most educated left. I have met some of them at Pepperdine Law School a few years ago whose parents are still in Russia but most of these millions will never go back because they don't support Putin's policies.

Likewise, when Trump was inaugurated about and equal number of young educated people (the best and brightest of the U.S.) left the U.S. for other countries too.

So, the best and brightest are smart enough to go somewhere else when things get bad enough.

The people I feel the most for now is people in the U.S. military because  of illegal orders

But, in the end what happens when 90% of jobs in the U.S. go away because of AI?

Note: My wife was saying that there is a discrepancy here because it is uncertain just how fast AI will replace people at their jobs. it could be 5 to 10 years but I think she is right that there will be much resistance regarding for example, labor unions and other types of things like this. So, people likely are going to fight back in ways both known and unknown to losing their livelihoods all over the world.

and likely if their needs aren't addressed at a certain level then AI places might burn down (accidentally?) all over the world.

People everywhere are not without the means of stopping all this if 8 billion people want it to stop likely too.

So, it is theoretical at best what is going to happen. For example, how many of you thought this year would be as bad as it was here in the U.S.? Or even if you thought it would be bad did you expect it to be this Bad?

So, all these unknowns have not been addressed by anyone. It's a roller coaster ride for sure worldwide any way you look at it.
