This is an indication that if we aren't in a recession already we soon will be. However, Trump thinks people are doing just fine. Or he pretends they are doing fine as he watches them slowly starve to death all over the world.
ALL of Trump's policies have resulted (especially Tariffs) in Stagflation which is really deadly (just study what has happened to Japan since around 1990 or so.
Stagflation is almost impossible to get out of and a sure way to create another Great Recession or Great Depression.
As I have always said: "Trump is another Herbert Hoover financially for this country" Herbert Hoover CAUSED the Great Depression because he was a fan of Tariffs too which took us directly into a Great Depression when the Stock Market Crashed in 1929.
