Be very careful in all the rains and snow storms out there:

We had a power outage from Tuesday through Friday night around 9 pm when we returned home from a restaurant with my daughter and her boyfriend from Texas.

But, the night before this I had wood stored in waterproof plastic containers outside to keep the wood dry that I could access through a sliding door to our living room and fireplace.

However, I didn't consider how slippery our deck would be with plastic wood in the rain and when I bent down to pull out the the last piece of wood from the plastic container the container slipped from the rain and I went down. Unfortunately I had my keys in my right pocket where I hit the deck and so that was one injury and also I was on the wet deck and being rained upon at that point too.

At the time I thought I was relatively okay (this was last Thursday night). However, since then (about 2 days later I found I could barely walk and my back was trying to go out a lot.

I never take pain killers except when I want to sleep and the pain is too much for me to sleep so I had to take Tylenol and I really don't like taking pain killers for a variety of reasons. The first reason is when you take pain killers you often injure yourself because your pain is protecting you from further injuries. So, likely the only time it is really safe (from my point of view) to take pain killers is when you are getting into bed to sleep so you won't injure yourself more because of the pain killers and over estimating what your body can actually do safely.

I prefer Advil because it reduces swelling but because of the heart medications I take I can't take that anymore.

However, I'm surviving okay now even though I'm still limping around a lot.

What a really Crazy Christmas of getting up at 2 am and 6 am from Tuesday to Friday to fill the gas tank on our Yamaha 2200 inverter Generator!

So, be careful.

The weather lady just said there could be more power outages where we live in the greater San Francisco bay area  during Thursday and Friday this week.
