This is what he texted me. And this is someone who has always been a computer genius and more fully understands AI from his personal use of it and who is 52 years old with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
This is his text to me regarding AI in this movie:
"Not possible unless there is a human user directing it.
"AI are not separate. That is an illusion."
end quote.
It's sort of like I have written here myself: "Would you take advice from an adding machine in Binary?"
Because believing anything that AI says is sort of like "Do you believe in your adding machine?"
Or maybe better said, "Garbage in Garbage out" which is what we were told in the 1960s when I was learning to program computers in College.
In other words: "You can only get out of a computer what you put into it that is valid in the first place."
Otherwise, it is all gibberish that no one can properly process or understand.
So, could their be Insane AIs. There likely have already been a lot of them.
However, they are programmed mostly to be polite to you except military AIs which might be programmed to kill all of us.
This is likely what I need to say here.
So, ultimately the movie does not have a valid premise.
However, the questions this movie is asking us all are all valid questions if we actually want to survive all our advanced Adding machines in Binary that appear to talk to us but really don't and we really are having conversations with logarithms not really anything sentient (yet at least that we know of).
