I'm sure we have all read things or heard things for example, writing by a virgin (sort of like the jokes about sex I heard in school in the 1950s when I was 6 to 12 years old) which are so ridiculous that they have absolutely no basis in fact at all. But, then again kids were usually kept pretty ignorant of anything to do with sex until they discovered it for themselves sometime after 12 years old during the 1950s too.
And even then boys were told: "If you do that hair is going to grow on the palm of your hand!" which is completely ridiculous too.
So, the point is it is better (unless you are writing something that is a complete fantasy on all levels and people know this "It is better to write what you actually have some experience with in real life.
For example, I try not to write very much about countries I haven't traveled to yet myself and I'm 78.
So, I can easily write about Nepal, and India and Thailand and Japan and Mexico and Canada and Scotland and England and France and Germany and Austria and Italy the most.
However, I shouldn't be writing about the middle East or Africa or South America because I haven't been there yet. (However, I almost went with my wife to South America when she went to Antarctica in 2016 with a lady friend of hers.
However, I knew if I did this I would be sick a lot between South America and the first tip of Antarctica they were going to visit on a ship then because they had 30 foot seas so 70% of the passengers and crew were sick for up to a week during this crossing.
So, I guess it's better that you write what you know something about.
If you are a virgin don't write about sex because you haven't experienced sex yet with another person.
However, I suppose you could write about masturbation because most people know how to do that if they are older than 12 years old. But, who would want to read that? I'm not sure there is an audience for that that is safe to write for for anyone.
So, if you write about what you have experienced in reality already this is the most helpful so people won't tend to laugh at you regarding what you have written.
Writing, for me at least, is a very personal thing almost like going out on a date because I often share really deep things (so I'm not just making conversation) I'm also sharing things that might keep you alive the rest of this century and beyond.
By God's Grace
