It hits when you least expect it. At first, your head feels foggy but there isn't much warning before you are going to fall down and possibly not get up.
So, because of all of this it is better to prepare for the heat than just be a victim of it because as a victim of the heat you have some danger of dying if no one is there to care for you once you are on the ground and unable to function right anymore.
A friend of our visiting was saying how digging a hole isn't a bad idea to survive the heat in if you don't have air conditioning where you are now.
She said that her grandparents said they went into root cellars to survive the heat earlier in the 20th century. I remember even in the 1950s people putting ice in front of a fan for the cooler air. But, imagine people trying to survive the heat without electricity in the past before electricity?
So, planning ahead so you don't die in the heat is important. And if your employer asks you to do things that might kill you through heat prostration don't do it.
Staying alive in the heat has to be your very first priority or else you will soon be gone.
If you are sweating it is heat exhaustion.
But, if you are not Sweating it can be heat stroke which can be fatal.
