Let me start with being kind to ourselves. If when I learned I would die if I didn't retire at age 50 I became so attached to my life up until then that I wouldn't retire then I would have died.
I needed to have enough compassion for myself and everyone in my life, my wife, my children, my friends my relatives to stay alive not only for myself but for them as well.
Staying alive has created many many good things in the lives of everyone I know or have met along the way in life.
Understanding who you are and what you came to earth to do helps in this too.
Each of us are a Free spirit here on earth in the Eyes of God.
We are each here to learn to have Free Will so we can help God and become more adult helpers of God.
God helps those who help themselves.
In other words unless you use the smarts and compassion that God has given you you might not be around very long.
Some people believe everything is fate and already pre-arranged.
I don't believe that about everything.
For example, I believe I needed to live in California and Hawaii and spend my senior year of High School in a private school in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
However, most other things in my life I don't feel were pre-ordained.
So, there is what needed to happen and then there are things God gave you and I Free Will about so we could learn to be better Adults in our decision making so God didn't have to work so hard taking care of us like little children.
So, learning what you can change for the better "by God's Grace" is maybe one of the most important things you will ever learn in life.
It was for me.
