Technological Singularity and Space-time Singularity

The term "technological singularity" was originally coined by Vinge, who made an analogy between the breakdown in our ability to predict what would happen after the development of superintelligence and the breakdown of the predictive ability of modern physics at the space-time singularity beyond the event horizon of a black hole.[16]

The problem of understanding a Technological Singularity therefore is similar to understanding a Space-Time Singularity.

Maybe the way to start this is to say that for a human being to understand Space-time Singularity he or or she would have to start with completely different premises than we tend to living in a matter univeverse. And to go there would drive most scientists mad.

However, for someone who has a more mystical way of seeing things this might be possible because what is real for a mystic is often different than what is real to a scientist. And it is debateble in the end which point of view is more Real. Because each would be convinced that their point of view is right and correct.

However, if a scientist has only seen the science of a desert planet for example, he would not know the science of a water planet. So, what I'm saying here is that science is only relevant when the right scientific variables are applied. What if no known variables are available here living on earth to understand a Space Time Singularity OR a Technological Singularity. If there is no Precendence there is no real way to understand either of these things, maybe until it is too late and people are dead from either occurrance.

If you had never seen a Rhino before and didn't know what big animals can do in the wild. Or if you had never seen or heard of a Grizzly bear before and didn't know what they could do or how they behaved, would you survive the encounter? You might not.

I have never been attacked by a Grizzly bear but strangely enough I have had a Rhino try to kill me and split me up the middle and Trample me on the Terai in Nepal in 1986. And I will tell you it isn't something I want to repeat: EVER!

Was I prepared for this? No!

But, I was innovative enough to survive the experience by climbing the nearest tree while he tried to knock down the tree to try and kill me.

A Technological Singularity is a little like that Rhino that I didn't really understand completely. But, my wife and I were lucky enough to get into 2 trees before we were dead at the time. (even though it was very close).

No one is prepared to face a Technological Singularity anymore than anyone is ready to experience a 9.0 earthquake. IF it happens you will be lucky to survive it at all. The same is true of a Space-time Singularity.
