Pakistan floods fail to spark strong global aid
The floods have disrupted the lives of 14 million people — 8 percent of the population. Many are living in muddy camps or overcrowded government buildings, while thousands more are sleeping in the open next to their cows, goats and whatever possessions they managed to drag with them. end quotes.
If the flooding has destroyed 300,000 homes and 14 million people are directly affected and 8 percent of Pakistan's population is one of these 14 million then likely everyone in Pakistan is friend's with or related to in some way these people who have lost everything.
I suppose my biggest concern about all this would be: "Will this collapse the government of Pakistan and put nuclear weapons directly into the hands of the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden?" and
My second concern would be: "If we eventually get a death toll from this flooding from something like Cholera or Dengue Fever of 500,000 to 1 million people the whole world is going to feel pretty guilty about not recognizing the depth and severity of the problem sooner." And "If 300,000 homes and even more livelihoods are wiped out in a country with no social welfare programs like food stamps or anything else these 14 million people's lives will be "Hell on Earth" for months, weeks and years to come.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
