Donnie Darko: The Movie and Time Travel

I had never seen Donnie Darko before and I think I had it confused with Donnie Brasco or something. However, my daughter who is a high schooler wanted to watch it on netflix by streaming it onto our large living room flatscreen through our purple Roku Puck fed through the Internet. It came out in the early 2000s:

Donnie Darko (2001) - IMDb

 Rating: 8.2/10 - 334620 votes
A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.
Directed by Richard Kelly. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone.

end google quote.
Maggie Gyllenhaal also is in the movie as Jake's sister as she is in real life too.
Though it is a depressing movie in many ways it also is an interesting take on Time Travel as well. It was produced by Drew Barrymore and she also has a small part in it as a teacher in Jake's Prep School.

Jake is a very intelligent but troubled teenager and sees a tall 6 foot rabbit who tells him things about the future. It is a very strange but interesting movie but it also sort of dark like his name.
