Lincoln: The Movie
Spielberg does it again. Remember Saving Private Ryan when you really felt you were there on D-Day with all the real sounds and actions and no holds barred action. The same can be said of Lincoln, the movie as well. Daniel Day Lewis should get the Oscar for best actor this year. If he doesn't get it something is wrong. You really feel you are there in the telegraph room with Lincoln agonizing what to send in reply. You feel his pain at one point when he rides his horse with an escort of soldiers through a field where hundreds of soldiers lie dead both Union and Confederate. You feel like you are there when problems of the Presidency are being dealt with in the style of the day. Really amazing movie. It brought tears to my eyes at many points. Amazing movie.
