There is a way of thinking that teachers have taught me about that goes something like this. If your cup is full you cannot refill it. Imagine your cup is full of yesterdays old cold coffee. If you won't dump out the old coffee from your cup and brew some new coffee and wash your old cup then you cannot put coffee, milk, juice or anything else in your cup. Each of our lives are like this cup. If we cannot move on by emptying out the old stale coffee, juice, day old milk or whatever it is we cannot move on to something better.
But, in life often it is hard to give up the old for the unknown new. Because in real life we aren't talking about a cup of coffee, milk or juice we are often talking about where we live, giving up a parent that is passing away that we can never replace or a friend that is dying that we cannot replace or a home that a loved one built but they are gone now and it needs to be sold, or a wife that you can no longer live with or children going off to college. Emptying out our old coffee, milk or juice and washing our cup can be terrifying. But, it is also necessary to see what new and amazing thing that life and God will bring into our lives next. If we want any future at all often we must empty the cup and wash it and prepare it to be clean and empty so something new and amazing might fill it with something we actually might want that is good for us. And not only good for us but also good for the life around us.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
