The Surveillance debate is an important one worldwide. Because it might mean that only by a useful resolution of how things are done worldwide, in the long run might decide whether humans go extinct in this century or not. Though many might think that 24 hour a day surveillance is necessary the actual fact of it in place could also end the human race. Information is how we survive. If there is no private information at all I put forth the argument that human extinction is the next logical outcome.
If no one has the freedom to think any thought or do anything original what is to stop someone or a group of someone's from deciding to end the human race by nuclear or other means in protest of this lack of freedom? The surveillance debate may be the last debate we have before going extinct. I think the world must consider this as an important consideration regarding the ever increasing levels of surveillance worldwide. So, without this debate worldwide being taken seriously it might just be the end of us sometime in this century or the next.
