Can an adult white man shoot a young black man and get away with it?

This is why people watch the trial of Zimmerman for 2nd degree murder of Travon Martin worldwide. Everyone wants to know the answer to this question. And the answer likely and very unfortunately is: Yes. It is likely that Zimmerman will be acquitted because of Stand Your Ground Laws. Even though if Travon Martin had survived it is possible that Zimmerman would have been convicted of attempted murder because of Travon Martin's testimony. But, because he died only Zimmerman's account might matter for a variety of reasons, the first being this happened in Florida which is a southern State with Stand your Ground laws.

What I worry about is that more states might get rid of "STand your ground laws" as a direct result of the Zimmerman and Travon Martin case. I think getting rid of "Stand your Ground laws" completely would only encourage people to shoot people when confronted and then just try to hide the body more than they do now.

STand your ground laws are important but this case may doom them in all states that still have them. Though I believe Zimmerman will be acquitted of any wrongdoing I don't think people will let him live to enjoy this acquittal. So, this tragedy might be almost never ending in it's negative effects on families and people in general nationwide and worldwide.

However, it might be important for more people to see that racism isn't dead it has just changed it's forms. And Zimmerman's acquittal will show this about racism at this point. And the soul of the world will quake at this realization as well. And soul searching will be had by all people with a conscience. And if this is true Travon Martin will not have died in vain.
